Maharashtra BJP has accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of insulting the Constitution and Constitution maker Baba Saheb Ambedkar. The party posted a video of Rahul Gandhi on its X handle at 8:30 am on Thursday and wrote – First Rahul showed a blank copy of the Constitution in Nagpur, then did not garland Baba Saheb’s statue. Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis also targeted Rahul. He said – Rahul Gandhi was asking for votes from ‘urban Naxalites and anarchists’ by carrying ‘Lal Kitab’ in an election program in Nagpur. In response to this, Rahul said that according to the former Chief Minister of BJP of Maharashtra, showing Baba Saheb’s Constitution and raising voice for caste census is a Naxalite idea! The video posted by Maharashtra BJP shows that apart from Shivaji’s statue, three pictures were kept on the stage of Rahul Gandhi’s program. This also includes a picture of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Devendra Fadnavis said, “Rahul Gandhi’s loyalty to the Constitution of India was seen yesterday. The allegation I made turned out to be true. He does not want to glorify the Constitution with the Lal Kitab, but he did this drama to warn the urban Naxalites and anarchists with him and seek help from them. He is insulting the Constitution every day. Congress insulted Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and insulted the Constitution. Now no one will forget their tricks.” Jairam Ramesh’s response
Responding to Fadnavis’s statements, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that Devendra Fadnavis is getting desperate. He has accused Rahul Gandhi of showing the “Lal Kitab” to seek support from the so-called “urban Naxalites”. The book that Fadnavis is objecting to is the Constitution of India, whose chief architect was Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. This is the same Constitution of India that the RSS attacked in November 1949, saying it was not inspired by Manusmriti. This is the same Constitution of India that the non-biological Prime Minister wants to change. As for the Lal Kitab, Fadnavis should know that it has a foreword by one of the most respected legal figures in India, K.K. Venugopal, who was the Attorney General of India during 2017-2022. Earlier, the non-biological Prime Minister and self-proclaimed Chanakya has also been given this Lal Kitab. As for urban Naxal, the Union Home Ministry has told Parliament on 9 February 2022 and 11 March 2020 that the Government of India does not use this term!
