BCCI launches Team India’s new ODI jersey: Shades of the tricolour on the three shoulder stripes; Women’s team will wear jersey against West Indies

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday launched Team India’s new ODI jersey. During this, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur were also present. This jersey has been made by famous German sportswear company Adidas. Team India’s previous jersey was completely blue and had three Adidas stripes on the shoulder. This time the three Adidas stripes on the shoulder have been given a tricolor shade. The blue color of this jersey is slightly lighter than the previous jersey but it has been given a darker color on the sides. BCCI has shared the video of the new jersey on Instagram and Instagram. Harmanpreet Kaur said about the new jersey, ‘It is an honor for me that the new jersey was launched in my presence. I am very happy with its look. Especially the tricolor made on the shoulder.’ Women’s team will wear new jersey against West Indies Women’s team will wear a new jersey for the first time against West Indies. The West Indies team will tour India in December. A series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches will be played between India and West Indies. The T20 series will start from December 15. All the matches of this series will be played in Mumbai. The ODI series will start from December 22. All the matches of this series will be played in Vadodara. After this, the team will tour Australia for a 3-match ODI series. The first ODI between India and Australia will be played on December 5 and the second on December 8. Both these matches will be played in Brisbane. The third match will be played in Perth on December 11. ODI World Cup in 2025 The Women’s ODI World Cup is also to be held in India in 2025. The tournament will be played in a round robin format between September and October. Only 8 teams including India will participate in it. Australia is the defending champion of the tournament and the team that has won the title the most number of times i.e. 7 times. The men’s team will be seen in the new jersey in January next year The Indian men’s team will first be seen in this jersey against England in January 2025. Initially, a series of 3 T20 matches will be played between India and England. After this, Team India will also be seen in this jersey in the Champions Trophy to be held in February-March. Last year, jerseys for all three formats were launched Team India had made sports brand Adidas its kit sponsor last year. After which the company itself released a video and released three different designs of jerseys for all three formats. Jersey changed before T20 World Cup Team India was seen in a new jersey in the T20 World Cup held in West Indies and USA. Kit sponsor Adidas had made a new design of blue colour jersey. Which had a combination of orange colour. At the same time, there was the colour of the tricolour on the V-shaped collar. Adidas shared the video of the launch on social media. Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja were also shown in the video along with captain Rohit Sharma. Contract with Adidas till 2028 The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has signed a contract with Adidas till 2028. During the Cricket World Cup from 1992 to 1999, the jersey of the Indian cricket team was made by Asics. After this, the cricket team had no sponsor till 2005. In December 2005, Nike signed a five-year contract. After this, Nike also signed contracts in 2011 and 2016. Nike ended its contract in 2020. MPL replaced Nike in 2020. MPL’s contract with BCCI was till the end of 2023, but the company decided to end this contract midway. After this, Killer became the kit sponsor of Team India.
