AI engineer commits suicide in Bengaluru: Accused his wife of harassing him for money; released a 1:20 hour video message, a 24 page letter

A case of suicide of an AI engineer has come to light in Bengaluru. 34-year-old Atul Subhash committed suicide accusing his wife and mother-in-law of harassing him for money. On December 9, he released a 1:20 hour video and a 24-page letter saying that he has no option left except suicide. Atul has also made serious allegations against a judge of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. He has written in his letter that the judge had demanded Rs 5 lakh in the name of settling the case. Atul also wrote that his wife and mother-in-law had asked him to commit suicide. The body of Atul Subhash, originally from Bihar, was recovered from his flat in Manjunath Layout, Bengaluru. When neighbors broke the door of his house, his body was found hanging from a noose. A placard with the words ‘Justice is Due’ was found in the room. On the complaint of Atul’s family, the police have registered a case against Atul’s wife and wife’s family for abetting suicide. Atul also wrote a note to the President in his letter
Atul Subhash has also written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu in his 24-page letter. In this, he wrote about the flaws in the country’s criminal justice system and told about the trend of filing false cases against men. In another note, he wrote that he is claiming himself innocent for all the cases filed by his wife. These include dowry resistance law and cases of atrocities against women. He said that I request the court to stop harassing my parents and brother in these false cases. Know the whole matter from Atul’s words… Wife left the house after living together for two years
In the video recorded before suicide, Atul explained the whole matter in detail. He said that he got married in 2019 after getting a match from a matrimony site. The next year he had a son. He said that his wife and wife’s family always kept demanding money from him, which he also fulfilled. He had given lakhs of rupees to his wife’s family, but when he stopped giving more money, his wife left Bengaluru with their son in 2021. Atul told that I give her 40 thousand rupees maintenance every month, but now she is demanding 2-4 lakh rupees per month as expenses to raise the child. Atul said that my wife neither allows me to meet my son nor ever lets me talk to him. Wife filed a case alleging dowry and father’s murder
The next year, his wife filed several cases against him and his family members. These also included cases of murder and unnatural sex. Atul said that his wife alleged that he had demanded Rs 10 lakh dowry, due to which her father died of a heart attack. Atul said that this allegation is like a bad story of a film, because my wife has already accepted in the court during questioning that her father was suffering from a serious illness for a long time and was undergoing treatment in AIIMS for heart diseases and diabetes for the last 10 years. The doctors had given him only a few months to live, that’s why we got married in a hurry. Wife demanded 3 crores, said – why don’t you commit suicide
Atul said that my wife first demanded 1 crore rupees to settle this case, but later increased it to 3 crores. He said that when he told the judge of the family court of Jaunpur about this demand of Rs 3 crore, she also supported his wife. Atul said that I told the judge that NCRB reports show that many men in the country are committing suicide due to false cases, then the wife interrupted and said why don’t you also commit suicide. The judge laughed at this and said that these cases are always false, you think about the family and settle the case. I will take 5 lakh rupees to settle the case. The wife’s mother said – If you die, your father will give the money. Atul told that when he talked to his mother-in-law about this matter, his mother-in-law said that you have not committed suicide yet, I thought the news of your suicide will come today. Atul replied to her that if I die, how will your party run. His mother-in-law replied that your father will give the money. After the husband dies, everything happens to the wife. Your parents will also die soon. The daughter-in-law also has a share in that. Your entire family will go to the court all their life. I and my family are being harassed with the money I earn. Atul said that I think it would be better for me to die, because with the money I am earning, I am making my own enemy stronger. My earned money is being used to destroy me. This court, this police and the entire system will harass me and my family and others like me with my tax money. If I am not there, then there will be neither money nor any reason to harass my parents and brother. Atul also said that my last wish is that my son should be given to my parents. My wife has no value that she can give to my son. She is not even capable of raising him. Apart from this, my wife should not be allowed to come near my dead body. My ashes should be immersed only when I get justice in this case. Otherwise, my ashes should be thrown into the gutter. Atul’s father said – He was upset, but he did not tell us anything. Atul’s father Pawan Kumar told that Atul used to say that the work is not done according to the law in the court that brings about reconciliation, even the rules of the Supreme Court are not followed here. He had to go to Jaunpur 40 times from Bangalore. His wife kept registering one case after another against him. He must have been very tired, but he never told us anything. Suddenly we got the news of his suicide. He had sent an email to our younger son at 1 am. All the allegations that my son has made against his wife and her family are true. Atul’s brother Vikas Kumar said that 8 months after separating from my brother, his wife filed a divorce case and filed cases against my brother and our entire family under different laws and sections. Every law in this country is for women, there is no law for men. My brother fought against this, but he left us. He wrote in his suicide note that if I win against the system then only my ashes should be immersed in the Ganga, otherwise they should be thrown into the gutter outside the court. My brother did everything for his wife. If he had talked to us even once, we would have helped him come out of this situation. I want to appeal to the Indian government and the President that if my brother is with the truth then he should get justice, otherwise I should be given proof that he was wrong. The judge whose name my brother has written in his suicide note should also be thoroughly investigated.
