Delhi LG told Atishi- Kejriwal called you caretaker CM: I am hurt; Atishi’s reply- don’t do dirty politics

Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinay Kumar Saxena on Monday wrote a letter to Chief Minister Atishi and congratulated her on the New Year. He wrote that for the first time in his two and a half years of tenure, he saw the Chief Minister working. Before you, the CM (Arvind Kejriwal) did not have a single department, while you are handling the responsibility of many departments. LG wrote that a few days ago, former CM Arvind Kejriwal publicly called you a temporary and makeshift Chief Minister. I found this very objectionable and I am hurt by it. This is an insult not only to you but also to the President of India who appointed you and to me as his representative. On LG’s letter, CM Atishi said – Instead of doing dirty politics, you should focus on the betterment of Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal ji worked for the betterment of Delhi for nine and a half years. I am running the government on the path shown by Arvind Kejriwal ji. Atishi said – The people of Delhi made Arvind Kejriwal win again and again. On 22 December LG had shared a video raising questions on the dirt and mismanagement in many areas of Delhi. On this, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal thanked LG and said that he should tell us our shortcomings, we will remove all the shortcomings. The next day Kejriwal informed about the start of cleaning work in the areas in X post. Taking a dig at this LG had written a letter to Kejriwal. LG had written that I would have been happy if attention was also paid to those schools where children of two classes have to sit and study in one room. I will also hold you responsible for the increasing pollution in Yamuna, because you had stopped the cleaning work of Yamuna by filing a petition in the Supreme Court. LG had visited some areas of South Delhi on 21 December. The next day, he shared a video of the filth spread in those areas. He wrote in the post- It was very disappointing and disturbing to see the helplessness and pitiable life of lakhs of people again. There is also a lack of basic facilities in these areas. There is a shortage of drinking water, women are forced to carry water in buckets from the tanker that comes once in 7-8 days. LG had also raised questions on the free electricity scheme of the Delhi government. In response to this, CM Atishi had reached those areas.
