A new revelation was made on Monday in the murder case of former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash. News agency PTI quoted police sources as saying that wife Pallavi is the prime suspect in Om Prakash’s murder. At the time of the incident, Om Prakash was eating food. During this time, there was a fight between the two. It escalated so much that the wife killed him. Police sources said that Pallavi first threw chilli powder on Om Prakash, when the DGP was running here and there to get relief from the burning sensation, Pallavi stabbed him 10-12 times with a knife on his neck, stomach and chest. According to media reports, Pallavi has confessed to the crime. However, it has not been officially confirmed. Daughter Kriti was also present there during this incident. Initial investigation has revealed that after the murder, a message was sent to the wife of another IPS officer – ‘A monster has been killed’. Later Pallavi called her and told that she had killed Om Prakash. After this, the IPS officer himself informed the police. Son had accused mother and sister of murder On the complaint of son Kartikesh, former DGP’s wife and daughter Kriti have been arrested after registering a case of murder. Kartikesh has alleged that his mother Pallavi was threatening to kill his father for the last one week. Due to threats, father had gone to live at his sister’s house. Two days ago, younger sister Kriti went there and brought father back against his will. Both of them often quarreled with father. Kartikesh has expressed suspicion of mother and sister for murdering his father. Earlier, Kartikesh had told a TV channel that mother Pallavi is suffering from serious mental illnesses. She has been undergoing treatment for schizophrenia (illusion, fear disease) for 12 years. There was a dispute over property According to media reports, there was a dispute between Om Prakash and wife Pallavi over property. Om Prakash had transferred the property to a relative. Due to this, there was often a quarrel between the two, which later came to a scuffle. Police are investigating whether his daughter has any role in the murder. Additional Police Commissioner of Bengaluru Vikas Kumar said that the police received information about the death of the retired officer at around 4 pm on Sunday evening. 1981 batch IPS officer Om Prakash worked as the state’s DGP and IGP from 2015 to 2017. Prakash, a native of Bihar, started his career as Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Harpanahalli (then Bellary district). He also worked as DIG in Lokayukta, Fire Department and Emergency Service and Crime Investigation Department (CID).
