After Amul and Mother Dairy, now Uttar Pradesh’s milk supply organization Lucknow Milk Union (Parag) has also increased the price of milk. These new rates have come into effect from today i.e. May 3. The company has cited the increase in cost as the reason for this. Now the price of a one-litre pack of full cream milk has been increased from Rs 68 to Rs 69, while the half-litre pack is available from Rs 34 to Rs 35.
Amul, Mother Dairy and Verka have already increased the price. Earlier, Amul, Mother Dairy and Verka brands had also increased the price of milk by up to Rs 2 per litre across the country. Mother Dairy and Verka brands had increased the prices from April 30 and Amul from May 1. Cost increased by 4 to 5 rupees per litre
According to Mother Dairy, the cost has increased by 4 to 5 rupees per litre in the last few months. This increase in cost has come mainly due to the onset of summer as well as heatwave conditions.
