‘OTT platforms should boycott Turkiye content’: FWICE appealed by writing a letter; Earlier, the film industry had also demanded boycott of Turkiye

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has appealed to OTT platforms to boycott Turkiye content and take a clear stand. FWICE has taken this step due to the increasing tension between India and Turkey. Earlier, FWICE had appealed to Indian producers to boycott Turkiye. Indian producers were appealed to boycott Turkey In fact, Federation FWICE Chief Advisor Ashok Pandit wrote a letter on Wednesday and requested all Indian filmmakers to think before choosing Turkey as a shooting location. He has cited Turkey’s growing support for Pakistan in matters affecting India’s national interests. The letter said the nation comes first The letter said- ‘FWICE has always been firm on the fact that the nation comes first. In view of recent developments and Turkey’s continued stance in support of Pakistan, which has raised concerns about security and national security. We believe that it is not in the interest of the Indian film industry to invest or collaborate in any form that indirectly supports or benefits such a country. Turkiye’s stance has been seen not only diplomatically but also on different international forums where it has taken a stand contrary to India’s sovereign interests. Since this industry is deeply rooted in Indian soil and culture, we cannot remain indifferent to actions that undermine the dignity or security of our country.
