SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has postponed his talks on settling humans on other planets like Mars till March 9. Musk’s SpaceX company will conduct a flight test of the Starship rocket on May 28, just a few hours later. It will launch from a place called Starbase in Texas. Starship is said to be the world’s most powerful rocket. Musk will talk on this issue tomorrow after this testing. Earlier, he had said on a social media post that he would talk on the ‘Road to Making Life Multiplanetary’ program on May 27 at 10:30 pm. Musk believes that if a major accident happens on Earth in the future, Mars can become a way to save humanity. He has said that humans should not be limited to only one planet. If we settle on many planets, it will be more possible for human civilization to survive for a long time. Claim to send Starship to Mars in 6 months Musk had said on Monday that Starship can travel to Mars in 6 months, whereas earlier it was thought that it would take 10 years. Musk said that when Earth and Mars come in a straight line, then the distance between the two planets becomes very less. This situation comes every 26 months (about 2.2 years). It is called ‘opposition’ in scientific language. It is easiest and fastest to send a rocket to Mars at this time. On normal days, the distance between Mars and Earth is about 24 crore 90 lakh kilometers, but at the time of opposition it is reduced to just 7 crore kilometers. Earlier, Musk had said earlier this year that if everything goes well, then in 2026 SpaceX’s Starship rocket will go to Mars with Tesla’s humanoid robot and in 2028 a mission will be sent with humans. Musk’s company will test the flight of Starship
SpaceX is going to test the flight of Starship on May 28. It will launch from a place called Starbase in Texas. In the last two test flights, the upper part of the rocket caught fire and debris fell, causing problems. SpaceX’s Starship rocket has been specially designed to carry humans and goods to other planets. However, so far only two of its test launches have been done and those too were not completely successful. There were some technical problems in it, especially regarding the engine and the heat shield. The heat shield is the part that protects the rocket from burning while re-entering the atmosphere. Elon Musk said that till now no company has been able to make such a heat shield that can be used again and again. But SpaceX is trying to make it reusable again and again. Musk claims – There will be a human settlement on Mars by 2025 Musk wants to establish a self-sustaining colony of humans on Mars. He says that the existence of Earth may be in danger due to nuclear war or collision with an asteroid. In such a situation, Mars is the most suitable planet for us. With this, humans can avoid their destruction. In September 2016, Musk had also explained his plan and technical aspects in detail. He said that he would be able to see a self-sustaining human settlement there by 2050. Recently, Musk said that the Starship will leave for Mars by the end of 2026. During this time, Tesla’s humanoid robot ‘Optimus’ will also go with it. If this mission is successful, then an attempt will be made to send humans to Mars in 2029. However, he also said that the possibility of a human mission in 2031 is higher. ——————————- Read this news too… 9th test of the world’s most powerful rocket tomorrow: One engine will be deliberately shut down during landing; the previous two tests had failed The 9th test of the world’s most powerful rocket Starship will take place tomorrow, i.e. on May 28 at 5 am as per Indian time.
