Punjab’s Batala Police has launched an international campaign to crack down on terrorist activities and has obtained a red corner notice from Interpol against five notorious gangsters. 5 gangsters, including Babbar Khalsa terrorist and gangster Happy Pasian, are accused of sitting abroad and instructing their local comrades to spread terror and chaos in Batala and surrounding areas. It is worth noting that Happy Pasian’s name was constantly coming up in the incidents of bomb blasts in the last few days. Not only this, Happy Pasian was also constantly taking responsibility for the bomb blasts by posting on social media. After which Batala Police has taken this step. Talking about Harpreet Singh alias Happy Pasian, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has already taken him under investigation. Happy’s four associates are also under the scanner. Apart from Happy Pasian, the police have taken this step against Pavitar Singh, Hushandeep Singh, Shamsher Singh and Hari Singh. Batala SSP Suhail Qasim Mir says that many things have come to light in the investigation. These accused are carrying out incidents like bomb blasts, target killings and firing by involving their local operatives. The police has adopted a dual strategy to deal with the increasing crime in the district, especially ransom cases – on the one hand, special teams are being formed and action is being taken, while on the other hand, red-corner notices are also being issued by Interpol against the absconding criminals. Recently, many industrialists had received ransom threatening calls from abroad, due to which the police became alert. These calls are directly related to the same gangsters who are running a network sitting abroad. Importance of Red Corner Notice:
Red Corner Notice is not an arrest warrant, but it is a request to the member countries of Interpol for information about that criminal and for cooperation at the international level for his arrest. According to the SSP, investigations in the last few years have revealed that people involved in grenade attacks, target killings and firing at the local level are being caught, but their masterminds are operating these activities from foreign hideouts, which are difficult for Indian agencies to reach. “Pasiyan is in the custody of the FBI.
