Reacting to the incident of beef being found at a grocery store in Delhi’s Vijay Nagar, Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj of Jyotishpeeth has called it reprehensible. He said that cow meat is being sold at shops in the country’s capital and when people raise their voice against it, some people are saying that injustice is being done. While protesting, people are also saying that eating cow meat is our fundamental right. He said that this is absolutely wrong, cow is the center of faith of us Hindus, it cannot be anyone’s food. We cannot see cow being cut into pieces.
Shankaracharya said – Freedom of food does not mean that you start cutting and eating the thing with which someone’s faith is attached. He further said in the video message that this is becoming a wrong tradition in India, now in the center of Delhi, people are seen eager to eat cow meat. When leftists can come forward to express their ideology, then why are Sanatani Hindus and cow devotees sitting silent? They should also come forward and tell that now we are not ready to see cow mother being cut into pieces. The feelings of cow devotees should be protected. Shankaracharya said – Ever since cow devotee Kshitij Pandey has informed us about this, we are feeling pain in our hearts and therefore we want to say that cow devotees should come forward to tell their views firmly without taking the law in their hands. There is a demonstration of cow devotees organized in which a large number of Hindus should participate and present their views before the Delhi and Central Government. Appealing to the Delhi and Central Government, he further said that the governments should also come forward and protect the feelings of cow devotees otherwise the pain will deepen which will only lead to bad consequences and not good results.
