Supreme Court refuses to ban the film made on Kanhaiyalal murder case: said- if you have any objection, you can go to High Court; ‘Udaipur Files’ will be released on July 11

The Supreme Court has refused to ban the film ‘Udaipur Files’ based on the famous Udaipur Kanhaiyalal murder case. The Supreme Court said that if you have any objection, you can go to the High Court. Actually, the film ‘Udaipur Files’ based on this murder case is going to be released on July 11. Mohammad Javed, the accused in this murder case, had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to stop its release. A bench of Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and Justice Joymala Bagchi on Wednesday rejected the petition and refused to ban the film. The court said – let the movie be released, if you have any objection, you can go to the High Court.

In the petition filed by the accused Mohammad Javed, it was said that the trial is still going on in this case. In such a situation, if the movie is released in Rajasthan, the trial will be affected. In the petition, the accused Mohammad Javed had filed a petition not to release the movie in Rajasthan. While hearing this, the Supreme Court said – let the film be released. If you have any objection, you can go to the High Court. The film is directed by Bharat S. Srinate. Its producer is Amit Jani. Bollywood actor Vijay Raj is playing the role of Kanhaiyalal. Rajneesh Duggal and Preeti Jhangiani will also be seen in important roles. Petition has been filed in Delhi High Court

Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President and Darul Uloom Deoband Principal Maulana Arshad Madani has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court regarding this film. Madani has claimed in the petition that the trailer of the film released on 26 June 2025 is full of such dialogues and incidents, which led to communal animosity in 2022. It has full potential to incite the same communal sentiments again. Kanhaiyalal’s elder son Yash Teli’s statement also came out on this petition. Yash said- This movie is not against any particular religion or community, but against terrorism. This movie based on the murder of my father shows everything that happened to my father. How he was killed. Some Pakistanis and their associates in India were involved in the terrorist conspiracy against him. This movie shows how the roots of terrorism work here. For three years, the son has not worn slippers and shoes, nor has he got his hair cut. Kanhaiyalal’s elder son Yash Teli is still firm on his three vows even after three years of his father’s death. First, he has not immersed his father’s ashes. Second, he has been barefoot without shoes and slippers for three years. Also, he has not got his hair cut for 3 years. Yash says that until his father’s murderers are hanged, he will not break these three vows. Kanhaiyalal was murdered by slitting his throat in the shop. On 28 June 2022, Kanhaiyalal was brutally murdered by Mohammad Riyaz Attari and Gaus Mohammad by slitting his throat. In the Kanhaiyalal murder case, the NIA had filed a challan against 11 accused Mohsin, Asif, Mohammad Mohsin, Wasim Ali, Farhad Mohammad Sheikh alias Babla, Mohammad Javed, Muslim Mohammad, including main accused Gaus Mohammad and Mohammad Riyaz Attari, declaring them absconding. The NIA special court had taken cognizance on 9 February 2023 under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Arms Act including murder, terrorist activities, criminal conspiracy. So far two accused have got bail
Accused Mohammad Javed was granted bail by the High Court on 5 September 2024. Javed is accused of hatching a plan along with Mohammad Riyaz Attari. In this case, before Javed, another accused Farhad Mohammad alias Babla was granted bail by the NIA court on 1 September 2023. NIA had registered an Arms Act case against Farhad.
