Musk said, “Indian talent will greatly benefit America.” In a conversation with the Zerodha founder, he said, “With the advent of AI, working will be optional in 20 years.”

Nikhil Kamath, founder of the trading platform Zerodha, has uploaded a podcast interview with the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, to YouTube. In this interview, Musk spoke openly about issues such as AI, the future of work, Starlink, immigration, population, and X. Musk says that in the next 10-20 years, AI and robotics will grow so rapidly that it will no longer be necessary for humans to work. In the same conversation, he stated that the US has taken full advantage of Indian talent, and that the politics surrounding H-1B is impacting the talent flow. Question 1: What will the future of work hold true due to AI and robotics? Answer: My prediction is that in 10-20 years, work will become an option. People can work if they want to, or not if they want to. AI will create so much productivity that robots and machines will fulfill most needs. Jobs will become a hobby for humans rather than a necessity. Some people will work because they enjoy it, not for survival. Question 2: Why will AI be so powerful? Answer: AI and robots are advancing like a supersonic tsunami. In a few years, the amount of goods and services produced worldwide will exceed the growth of the money supply. This means there will be more goods, and prices will be lower. This is what an AI-driven economy will bring. Question 3: How does Starlink work? What is its real value for India? Answer: Starlink consists of thousands of satellites that operate in a 550-kilometer low-Earth orbit. All satellites are connected by laser links. Starlink’s real value is greatest in India, where broadband is not available in large parts of the world. 70% of India’s population lives in small towns or villages, so Starlink’s impact could be significant here. Question 4: What is the future of money? Will currency disappear? Answer: When AI-robotics meet every need, money will no longer be needed. The real currency will be energy. Energy from solar-powered AI satellites will be free and abundant. Money is a database for labor allocation; when labor is no longer needed, it will become meaningless. Question 5: What are your opinions on immigration and H-1B? Answer: The opposition to immigration in the US is due to the misuse of the H-1B visa program and the lax policies of previous governments. America has benefited greatly from talented Indians. Musk cited Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Google CEO Sundar Pichai as examples. Question 6: Why did you create Twitter as X? Was it the right decision? Answer: Twitter had fallen into a kind of ideological imbalance. Left-wing views were being promoted, while right-wing voices were being suppressed. I tried to make it a centrist platform. X’s vision is a global town square, meaning words, video, calling, messaging, and payments all in one place. This means X’s future is like an ever-growing app. Question 7: Why is falling birth rates such a major threat? Answer: I am very concerned about the declining population. If the birth rate remains low, humanity may gradually disappear in the future. The more humans there are, the more consciousness there will be and the ability to understand the universe will increase. Question 8: What do you think about religion? Answer: Morality can exist outside of religion. Spinoza said that morality can come from natural laws. Humor and kindness are essential. Question 9: What do you think about India? Answer: India is very important. There is a lot of talent. We want to launch Starlink in India. India will play a big role in AI and space. Question 10: What message would you like to give to the young entrepreneurs of India? Answer: Create useful products and services. Create value, money will come automatically. Work hard, accept the chance of failure. I respect the one who gives more to the society.
