The Election Commission has extended the deadline for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, currently underway in 12 states and union territories, by one week. The Commission announced on Sunday that the final voter list will be published on February 14, 2026. The enumeration period for adding and deleting voters, or voter verification, will now run until December 11, instead of the previously scheduled date of December 4. The draft list, originally scheduled for December 9, will now be released on December 16. Following Bihar, SIR began in 12 states and union territories on October 28. Now, check out the new dates… 99.53% of forms reached: In a press release on Saturday, the Election Commission stated that 99.53% of the enumeration forms prepared for 51 crore voters have been distributed to the public. Digitization of approximately 79% of these forms has been completed. This means that the names, addresses, and other details written on the forms collected by BLOs from door to door have been entered into the online system.
