In Jalandhar, a pack of five dogs mauled a six-year-old boy to death. He had gone with his mother to the farm to feed his father. The boy went into the field to relieve himself. The pack surrounded him and attacked him. They bit him hard on the head and other parts of his body. Hearing his son’s cries, his parents rushed to the Civil Hospital for treatment. They immediately rushed the child to the Civil Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries. The deceased was identified as six-year-old Itwari, who lived with his parents in Sultanpur Lodhi, Gila Gakhla. The family originally hailed from Bahraich district in Uttar Pradesh. The deceased child’s father, Muneer, said that he was sowing potatoes in the fields. In the afternoon, his son came with his wife to give him food. After which, the son asked to go to the toilet, and he went into the field. There, a pack of 5 to 6 dogs attacked him. The dogs bit him all over his body. Hearing his son’s cries, the family rushed to rescue him from the dogs. The child was covered in blood and unconscious. In critical condition, the son was immediately taken to Jalandhar Civil Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead. The child was the family’s only son. The child’s uncle said, “We were working in the fields. During that time, we went to eat, and the child went into the field to relieve himself. There, the dogs surrounded him and bit him. Hearing the child’s cries, we rescued him from the dogs and took him to Sultanpur Lodhi.” From there, doctors referred him to Civil Hospital, Jalandhar, where he died during treatment.
