A total of 7,995 candidates have filed nominations for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Among them, BJP candidate from Ghatkopar East, Parag Shah is the richest candidate. In the election affidavit, he said that he has assets worth Rs 3383.06 crore. He has Rs 2 crore in cash. Parag became MLA for the first time in 2019 from Ghatkopar East seat. Then his assets were 550.62 crores. His assets have increased by 575% in 5 years. Earlier in the 2017 BMC elections, he had declared his assets worth Rs 690 crore. Parag Shah is also the chairman of real estate company MICI Group, he has been running it for 25 years. His company looks after real estate work in many cities of Gujarat and Chennai. Parag’s wife Mansi also has assets worth crores, which includes commercial, residential properties. Parag Shah has a debt of more than Rs 54.14 crore
In the information given to the Election Commission, Parag Shah told that he has a debt of Rs 54.14 crore. In this, there is a debt of 43.29 crore in his name and more than 10.85 crore in his wife’s name. Talking to the media, Parag Shah said that God has given him everything. He now wants to do something for the country. He told that he gives more than 50% of his savings for social service. He does not have any vehicle.
